Know what you're looking at.
Wildward separates identification evidence, history, folklore, reconstruction and modern safety guidance instead of blurring them together.
Identification
Real-world evidence comes first when recognition matters. We do not identify a plant from a single weak feature or replace genuine reference imagery with a prettier generated substitute.
History & folklore
Established history, archaeological interpretation and folklore are labelled separately. A good legend stays a legend.
Food & safety
Traditional use is not automatically modern safety evidence. Lookalikes, preparation and uncertainty are surfaced when they materially affect safe use.
Images & reconstruction
We retain source, creator, licence and attribution information for licensed imagery. Generated or reconstructed scenes are labelled and never presented as documentary evidence.
Corrections
Factual corrections outrank older copy and prettier storytelling. If a correction changes the conclusion, the published record should change too.
Sources
We favour authoritative botanical, heritage, scientific and official sources. Each Read Deeper article carries the key sources used for its factual spine.
